Views from the Penthouse Balcony

Ruthie relaxing watching the beautiful ocean view

Motels, Condos and Restaurants

Old Town San Juan

It was a busy Sunday in old San Juan.

Lots of color and wrought iron--looks like New Orleans

Ruthie and Rusty exploring shops on the cobble stone streets.

Beautiful San Juan Bautista Catedral

Touring around San Juan

El Morro--the fort that defended the island
since the sixteenth century

A big Carnival cruise ship in port.

Sunday outside the city is a time for gathering and eating at the roadside diners.

Look Stacie--A Carson Newman colored Mini

El Yunque--Puerto Rico's Rainforest

El Yunque is the only Tropical Rainforest that is
owned and managed by the US Forest Service.

Plantain bananas growing--I ate plantain banana chips.

Coffee beans

The Canopy of the El Yunque Rainforest

The top of the rainforest--looking toward the cloud forest.

The canopy looking toward the beach.

Climbing a tower to look over the top of the trees.

Mom's attempt at being artsy!

A bunch of steps to see the top of Puerto Rico.

Some of the very few animals we saw in the rainforest.
Somehow 2 snails wasn't what I had pictured as the wildlife I would be seeing.
They are really not my favorite of God's creations.

Huge bamboo. I later saw drinking cups made from these trunks.

A huge leaf. We saw folks using them as umbrellas when the rain forest was raining.

This was a waterfall we hiked 1.5 miles to see. It is beautiful!
I couldn't convince Ruthie to go test the water though.

Look at the root system on this tree.

The Sun sets on Puerto Rico

Watching the Atlantic from the balcony--Rusty's loving his new phone.

Hating to say Good-bye!

Beautiful sunset from the airplane to end a beautiful trip.
You know how mom always has her nose plastered to the airplane window--God gave me an awesome reward for looking out this time.
